The Role Of School Libraries In Educational System Of RA

The article emphasizes the significant role of school libraries within the educational system of the Republic of Armenia. School libraries contribute to improving the quality of education by serving not only as support structures for the learning process but also as important informational and cultural centers. Their primary goals include supporting educational programs, developing reading and information literacy skills, and collaborating with the school community.
Special attention is given to the role of the school librarian, who plays a key role in promoting reading and developing students’ information competencies. The article also highlights existing challenges in the field, such as the lack of qualified professionals, limited technological resources, and insufficient governmental support. It proposes that regular analytical and research activities be undertaken to enhance the performance of school libraries and to increase their relevance and impact within the educational system.
