When compiling a bibliographic description of an item, the librarian very often encounters difficulties in correctly measuring its dimensions. Accurate recording of the dimensions of wide-format newspapers and large maps is often difficult due to the lack of a large ruler, and the percentage of errors in the dimensions taken is high. The article discusses how to solve this problem with the help of digital technologies.
