Abstract

The aim of this article is to present readers and future researchers with the information on the community libraries of the Talin region that was collected within the framework of this study. These materials provide a valuable basis for future analyses and comparative research. We sought to include all communities in the region; however, not all communities responded to our inquiries or participated in the survey.

Community libraries play a vital role in meeting the information needs of the population, preserving cultural heritage, promoting digital literacy, and fostering community engagement. They serve as important centers for education, lifelong learning, and social inclusion.

The findings also reveal a number of challenges, including limited material and technical resources, underdeveloped digital infrastructure, the need for professional training, and financial constraints. The article emphasizes that the effective future development of community libraries requires a coherent national strategic policy, broader implementation of digital technologies, and the continuous enhancement of professional competencies.
