Abstract

Indeed, the development of digital technologies has revolutionized libraries by enabling the creation of digital databases, which make printed and handwritten heritage accessible to a global audience. A flexible search system is a cornerstone of such databases, ensuring that users can navigate vast amounts of information effectively. Authoritative records play a crucial role in this, as they establish a standardized, reliable foundation for organizing and retrieving information. These records not only ensure consistency across metadata but also enhance interoperability between different systems, facilitating a seamless user experience. The purpose of this article is to present the work on the creation and systematization of authoritative records, to emphasize their necessity in electronic catalogs and digital databases, and to outline the ways of their use. We have specified the general provisions with examples of the electronic catalog of the ASUE scientific library. The study was conducted based on primary and secondary information, such as internet articles and guides.
