Digital Repositories as a Tool for University Scientific Visibility

On the Example of the Library of Brusov State University

Abstract

The article examines the role of academic libraries amid contemporary digital transformation, with a specific focus on the significance of university repositories. Drawing on the experience of the Valeriy Brusov State University (BSU) library, the paper analyzes how digital repositories facilitate the dissemination of institutional research output and enhance its visibility within the international scientific community. It explores the benefits of implementing Open Access principles, the structural characteristics of repositories, and their subsequent impact on university rankings. Furthermore, the study addresses the challenges inherent in the digitalization process, particularly concerning copyright protection and data management issues.
