Professional Education as a Factor in Ensuring the Quality of Library Activities in Armenia

In the context of the modern information society, the effective functioning of libraries largely depends on the level of professional education and continuous development of individuals working in the library sector. Armenian libraries, possessing a rich cultural heritage while simultaneously facing the challenges of digitalization and new information demands, are in particular need of highly qualified library professionals.
The aim of this article is to substantiate the importance of professional library education in the context of the development of Armenian libraries and the improvement of service quality. The objectives of the study include identifying the role of library education in the modernization processes of libraries, analyzing the impact of professional training on the effectiveness of information services, and assessing the necessity of continuous professional development in the field. It can be confidently argued that the development of professional library education constitutes an essential prerequisite for the competitiveness of Armenian libraries, the provision of services that meet users’ needs, and the formation of a knowledge-based society.
