Abstract

The personal libraries of representatives of various fields of culture, science, and literature are considered an undivideable part of the Armenian printed heritage, reflecting the way of thinking and views of the given figure at the same time. However, they often remain in the shadows.
The study of the personal library of Yeghishe Charents was carried out in parallel with the work of compiling the bibliography of the same library, starting from 2018. As a result of studying the personal library it was found that there were about 6,000 items of literature in the library, but 1,452 items were preserved - books and periodicals. Two of them were published in 1512-1800, and 20 in 1801-1850. Most of the literature was published in 1921-1937, due to the increase in his ability to acquire books during that period, as well as the fact that he worked in a state publishing house. The geographical map of book printing is large enough. covers a wide range of locations around the world. From a linguistic point of view, publications in Russian prevail, followed by Armenian ones, but there are also publications in foreign languages.
Our efforts to find books or periodicals belonging to the personal library of Charents in other Armenian collections were unsuccessful, but we are sure that the continuous work in this direction will have a positive result.
